Re: Making Your Own Beard Balm and Mustache Wax

Hello, I have been growing my beard now for about 5 months. Does anyone out here make their own beard balm and mustache wax?
I made some last week and two of the batches turned out pretty good, but I keep thinking I'm missing something.

Some of my questions about making beard balm:
1. Can you use almond extract in a beard balm?
2. Does Almond extract separate in beeswax?
3. Is there some other ingredient besides beeswax, shea butter and essential oil to be put in the mix for mustache wax in order to get a better consistency?

I have used Texas Beard Company brand of mustache wax and like it fairly well. I am hoping to make a mustache wax for myself that has a similar texture, but I think I must be missing some other key ingredient...perhaps lanolin?

I have seen some recipes call for vaseline but I am allergic to petroleum products.
Have you considered jojoba oil for your oils? Ive done alot of research on that subject and that seems to be one of the best because it is the closest to the natural oil your skin makes (sebum). And for your wax, lanolin is what your looking for. I cant imagine using Vaseline on my stach
