New photo of my beard.

This beard is around 9 or 10 months old if my estimation is correct.
The reason I am unsure is that I trimmed back to a number 1 hair (head) & beard and it was somewhere around that time frame. Anyway this is the latest onesmiling smiley DaveinOz

Very stylish!

And don't ask me why, but for some reason, I could see you with a good old-fashion flat-top crew cut. Not that I'm saying do that because your current head hair works quite well with the beard and 'stache that you've got going on.

A flat top crew cut, is that different to a standard crew cut?
Am I thinking the Marines style?
I always get a 1-4 crew cut by my wife but she hates me getting a number 1 bc you see my scars. Will see if I can dig out a pic smiling smiley DaveinOz.

Not sure if there's a difference -- I simply wanted to make it clear about the "flat top" part. The Marines I think shave it to the skin on the sides and leave some hair on the top.

Hello Gym,
I found this pic from 2008 before I shaved again.
Am due a crewcut so I might look like this again soon. DaveinOz

Hey, now, that look works very well for you. I'm trying to envision it with your tailback beard style, and I think it would look pretty good.

And like Santa said, the heck with the hairline receding. Most men are going to have some type of hair loss in their lives. Best to accept it and move on. Even the hair on top of my head isn't nearly as thick as it was when I was in my 20s.

Yes the hairline sure is moving back.................my wife used to say she would 'divorce me' (in jest) if I went bald, then again she also said that about me keeping a beard and we all know how that turned out smiling smiley The longer the beard gets the less it will matter about the hair on top. Have lots of Red backs to go kill, check in later. DaveinOz.

I'm no expert on short haircuts but I know the Marine style is called a "high & tight" - extremely short (almost shaved) on the sides and a short flat-top patch.

I used to be in the army and we only had the one cut.
I think I know your Marine one from the movies I have seensmiling smiley
So do you reckon I should do it again with the current beard?
Trouble is the hairline receding becomes more obvious smiling smiley

Dave, Dave, Dave... hairline receding? Not to worry one bit. The focus of what people will see in your head will be the great beard you have!

I seen serious "high and tight" haircut on U.S. marines. The sides are shaved down to the bone and less that a 1/2" on top in a horse shoe shape and very flat.
