Newest work
February 02, 2010 03:39AM
Here is a picture of the newest marbles I have been working on for my Marble Show I am running. On March 20th, I'll be at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel trying to sell my work. I'd lie to know if you like the style I am trying out with encasing real copper sheets inside the marbles.

The metal inside the marbles is copper.

Very nice work, Santa. I like copper in glass in the form of Goldstone (below), but it's kind of abstract. Encasing representations of animals, plants and other favorites has endless possibilities in customizing your work for a buyer's interests.

I never knew that marbles could be so expressive. I'm sincerely impressed with your stuff, Santa. That's gotta be hard when working with something so small yet getting so detailed.

Great looking marbles Santa.
Good to see you have not "lost your marbles"!

I have advertising for the show in many places and I've actually stopped at 50 antique stores from Monterey Bay to Temecula and dropped off fliers for the show.

One can include avernturine and goldstone inside a marble and those rocks are compatible too!

Yes, they go well together.

I wonder if the Oklahoma state rock is compatible (the rose rock) in a marble? I always found the state rock was prettier than the state flower (mistletoe).

I sometimes use a punch and sometimes I cut the copper with an eXacto knife - carefully!

So the globe marble I kind of imagined finding is possible! But the shapes you are putting inside-are they pre-cut, or do you do that yourself as well?
